Step 1: Download WhatsApp Business

- Go to your app store (Google Play or Apple App Store)
- Search for "WhatsApp Business" (green icon with "B")
- Download and install (it's free)
- Open the app and agree to terms

WhatsApp Business requires a phone number that's NOT already registered with regular WhatsApp. Options: use a second SIM, a landline (it can receive SMS), or migrate your existing number (you'll lose regular WhatsApp on it).
Step 2: Set Up Your Business Profile

- Tap Settings โ Business tools โ Business profile
- Add your business name (this cannot be changed later!)
- Upload a profile photo (your logo works best)
- Select your business category
- Add your address (appears on map)
- Add business hours
- Add your website and email
- Write a description (up to 256 characters)

Step 3: Create Your Catalog
The catalog is a game-changer. Instead of answering "What do you sell?" and "How much?" a hundred times, customers browse your catalog themselves.

- Go to Settings โ Business tools โ Catalog
- Tap Add new item
- Add a photo (good lighting, clean background)
- Enter name and price
- Add a description with key details
- Optional: Add item code, link to website
- Repeat for all your products/services

Use consistent photo style. Include prices (people hate asking). Add "Message to order" as call-to-action. Update regularly โ remove sold-out items.
Step 4: Set Up Auto-Replies
Greeting Message
Automatically sent when someone messages you for the first time or after 14 days of no conversation.

- Go to Settings โ Business tools โ Greeting message
- Toggle ON
- Write your greeting message
- Choose recipients (everyone, selected contacts, or exclude contacts)
Example greeting:
"Hi! ๐ Thanks for messaging [Business Name]. We typically reply within 1 hour during business hours (Mon-Sat 9am-6pm). Browse our catalog below ๐ or tell us how we can help!"
Away Message
Automatically sent when you're unavailable (outside business hours, on vacation, etc.).

- Go to Settings โ Business tools โ Away message
- Toggle ON
- Write your away message
- Choose schedule: Always, Custom, or Outside business hours
Example away message:
"Thanks for your message! We're currently closed but will respond first thing tomorrow. For urgent matters, call 876-XXX-XXXX. Business hours: Mon-Sat 9am-6pm ๐ฏ๐ฒ"
Step 5: Create Quick Replies
Quick replies are saved responses you can send with a shortcut. Type "/" and your shortcut to instantly insert the message.

- Tap Add (+)
- Write your message
- Add a shortcut (e.g., "hours", "price", "thanks")
- Add keywords for easy search

Labels help you categorize chats so nothing falls through the cracks.
