Google shut down its Mobile-Friendly Test in December 2023. This one does the job it did — and runs Google's own Lighthouse mobile score on top. Paste a URL, see it on a phone, get the pass/fail list.
Enter your website URL to preview on different devices
⚡ Speed results are measured by Google's own engine (PageSpeed / Lighthouse) — the exact same test Google uses.
If the screen stays blank, that site blocks embedded previews (a security setting) — the size test and audit below still apply.
⚠️ Preview blank? Some sites block live previews for security — that does not mean your site is broken. Use the free expert audit below and we'll check it on real devices for you. 👇
Open your site on your phone, then tap each item below that's true. We'll score it out of 8.
The site automatically adjusts to different screen sizes
Text is readable without zooming (16px minimum)
Buttons and links are big enough to tap (48px minimum)
Content fits within the screen — no side-scrolling
The page loads in under 3 seconds on mobile data
The menu is easy to open and use on a small screen
Phone numbers are tappable to call directly
A WhatsApp button for easy contact (essential in Jamaica!)
Over 70% of Jamaicans browse the internet on their phones. If your website doesn't work well on mobile, you're losing more than half your potential customers. Google also ranks mobile-friendly sites higher in search results.
1. The real-phone test. Open your site on your own phone. Can you read everything without zooming? Can you tap buttons easily with a thumb? Does it load in under 3 seconds on data? That's the fastest mobile website check there is.
2. The browser test. On a computer, press F12 in Chrome and click the phone icon (device toolbar) to preview your website on different mobile screen sizes — iPhone, Samsung, tablets.
3. The checklist test. Use the free scoring checklist above. It walks you through the exact things Google checks when deciding if your site is mobile-friendly.
Text too small / zooming required — your site is missing a responsive viewport. It needs a mobile-first redesign, not a patch.
Buttons too close together — tap targets should be at least 44px. Frustrated thumbs leave.
Slow loading on data — oversized images are the usual culprit. Compress them and your mobile speed jumps.
Content wider than the screen — fixed-width layouts from older websites break on phones. If your site was built more than 4–5 years ago, this is likely you.
Open it on a real phone and use the free checklist above: readable text without zooming, easy-to-tap buttons, fast loading, and no sideways scrolling. If any of those fail, your site isn't mobile-friendly.

Most web traffic — and in Jamaica over 70% — comes from phones, and Google ranks mobile-friendly sites higher. A site that fails on mobile loses both customers and search positions.

The tool is gone; the rules are not. A page is mobile-friendly when:
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1">. Without it, phones render the desktop layout and shrink it.Speed is judged separately through Core Web Vitals (LCP, INP, CLS). The score panel above runs Lighthouse for that.
Testing a site you don't control (a supplier, a competitor)? The preview works on any public URL.
Google retired the Mobile-Friendly Test and the Mobile Usability report because mobile-first indexing made them redundant: your mobile page is the page Google indexes. What replaced them is Lighthouse (in PageSpeed Insights and Chrome DevTools) and the Core Web Vitals report in Search Console. This page wraps the same Lighthouse engine so you get one answer without opening three tools.
A site can pass every rule above and still lose customers because it takes six seconds to load on a Digicel or Flow connection. Treat the pass/fail list as the floor and the speed score as the goal — under 2.5 seconds LCP on mobile.
No — Google retired the Mobile-Friendly Test tool and the Search Console Mobile Usability report in December 2023. Mobile-friendliness is now judged through Lighthouse/PageSpeed Insights and Core Web Vitals, which is what this test runs.
That the page uses a mobile viewport, text is readable without zooming (16px+), tap targets are big enough and spaced out (about 48px), content does not overflow the screen width horizontally, and there are no intrusive interstitials. Plus speed, which Google measures separately.

Viewport tag first (it fixes most zoom and width problems), then text size, then tap targets, then images and scripts that slow the page.
Yes — Google indexes the mobile version of your site (mobile-first indexing), and Core Web Vitals are a ranking signal.
