Grant officers and corporate sponsors check four things: who you are (mission, leadership, registration status), what you've done (programmes with photos and numbers — even small ones), how to give (bank details or online giving, stated clearly), and how to reach you (real contact info, not just a DM). A clean 5-6 page site answering those four questions outperforms a fancy 20-page site every time — and costs a fraction.
Donation pages that actually collect
The #1 nonprofit website mistake in Jamaica: a Donate button that leads nowhere. Your Give page needs your bank account details displayed plainly (branch, account name, number), international transfer guidance for diaspora donors, and — when you're ready — online card giving. Make the thank-you automatic and the accountability visible ('your J$5,000 feeds a child for a week').
What it should cost (honest numbers)
A proper nonprofit site shouldn't eat your programme budget. Running costs — hosting, domain, SSL, official email — run about J$25K/year.
