The site is live, the photos are nice, and the phone does not ring. Nine causes explain almost every case we audit. Find yours below — the fix is usually small.
1. Nobody finds it
Search your business name and your service + parish ("bakery Mandeville"). If you are not on page one for your own name, the site is not indexed or has no title tags. Fix: submit to Search Console, set titles, claim your Google Business Profile.
2. It is slow on a Jamaican phone
Heavy themes and unoptimised photos take 8–12 seconds on Digicel or Flow. Visitors leave at 4. Fix: compress images, remove sliders and unused plugins, or move to a static build. Test it free.
3. No way to contact you in one tap
Jamaicans buy on WhatsApp. If the number is text on the contact page instead of a tap-to-chat button on every page, you are losing most of your enquiries.
4. No prices
"Contact us for pricing" reads as expensive. Publish starting prices or ranges; the calls you get will be better.
5. No proof
No reviews, no photos of real work, no faces. Add five Google reviews to the homepage and a "who we've served" strip.
6. The checkout only takes cards
Most local customers want bank transfer, Lynk or cash on delivery. A card-only store loses them at the last step. Fix: add transfer with proof and COD.
7. It talks about you, not the customer
"We are a leading provider of…" says nothing. The first line should state what you do, for whom, in which parish, and why now.
8. Nobody is sending traffic to it
A site with no Google presence, no posts on it and no ads is a brochure in a drawer. Pick one: local SEO, a monthly blog, or a small Meta campaign to WhatsApp.
9. Nobody follows up
Enquiries that get a reply the next day are lost. Automate the first reply; answer within the hour in business time.
