site:yourdomain.com. Nothing? Connect Google Search Console and submit the sitemap. Indexed but invisible? Claim your Google Business Profile, get your name, number and area consistent on the directory and social, make every page say what you do and where in the title, speed up the mobile site, and start getting reviews. Most Trinidad & Tobago sites are not penalised — they just never told Google what they are."I have a website but when I Google my business nothing comes up" is the message we get most from Trinidad & Tobago. Here are the seven causes, cheapest first.
1. Google has not indexed it
Search site:yourdomain.com. If nothing comes back, Google has not been told. Connect Search Console, submit the sitemap, request indexing on the home page. Days.
2. No Google Business Profile
For "near me" and "Port of Spain" searches, the map comes first and only profiles appear on it. Set it up.
3. Pages hidden by the builder
Wix and Squarespace pages can be set to "hide from search engines" without you noticing. WordPress has a "discourage search engines" box. Check.
4. No local signals
Google does not know you are in Trinidad & Tobago unless your pages, your profile and your listings say so consistently. Put the area in page titles ("Plumber in Chaguanas"), and list on the Trinidad & Tobago Business Directory with the same name and number as everywhere else.
5. Slow on mobile
Google ranks the mobile version. A heavy template on a Trinidad & Tobago phone on mobile data is a ranking problem, not just an annoyance. Run the free mobile check.
6. Thin pages
A home page with a logo, four photos and "Welcome" gives Google nothing. Every page needs a title that says what and where, an H1, and a few hundred honest words.
7. No reviews
Reviews are a ranking signal on the map and a trust signal everywhere. Weekly asking beats a one-time campaign.

Frequently asked
How long until my site shows on Google?
Days for your own name once indexed; weeks to months for category searches as the signals above accumulate. No one honest promises a position.
Is my site penalised?
Almost never. Search Console will tell you if a manual action exists; the usual cause is simply missing signals.
Does a .bb or .tt domain help?
A little for local trust; a .com with the area in your content does just as well. Do not change a working domain for it.
Can you fix all of this for me?
Yes — the SEO basics are a fixed-price job for Trinidad & Tobago sites; the Business Profile and directory listing are included.
