Why photos matter

Google measures engagement — people tap, swipe and stay longer on profiles with real photos. That engagement feeds prominence. A profile with three blurry photos from 2021 tells Google nobody's home.

What to shoot

Outside (so people recognise it from the road), inside, the team, the work (before/after, plates, cars, rooms), the product. Phone camera, daylight, near a window. No filters, no stock photos — Google can tell.

The routine

Three photos a week, every week. Set a reminder. It's the single easiest ranking task and almost nobody in Jamaica does it consistently.

1. Today: shoot 10 photos in daylight — 2 outside, 3 inside, 3 of the work, 2 of the team. Upload them all.
2. Set a weekly phone reminder: 'Google photos — 3'. Same day each week.
3. Name your photos before uploading where you can ('mandeville-barber-fade.jpg'), and add a caption line in posts.
4. Ask happy customers to add a photo with their review — customer photos count more than yours.
5. Once a quarter, check Insights: photo views vs competitors; if you're behind, double the weekly count for a month.

⚠️ Mistakes to avoid

• Uploading a logo and calling it done — logos don't show anyone what it's like to be there.
• Using filtered or stock photos — Google can tell, and so can customers.
• One big upload then nothing for a year — recency is the signal.
