🚀 Open in 30 Days: Start a Business in Jamaica · Lesson 8 of 8 · free
The opening-day checklist, the five numbers to look at every Monday, when to hire, and what to do in month two.
⏱ About 15 minutes · read it, then do the "Do this now" steps before the next lesson
By now the papers exist, the account is open, the three listings are live, the first customers are named and the money rules are written. Opening day is not an event; it is the first day you do the routine. Post that you are open, message the follow-up list, deliver the first orders perfectly, and ask every customer for a review.
Every Monday, ten minutes: money in last week, money owed to you, number of new customers, number of repeat customers, and the one thing that went wrong. Write them down. After four Mondays you will know your business better than most people know theirs after four years.
Hire when the routine exists — the checklist, the booking or order system, the receipts — not when you feel tired. Upgrade the tools when the time they save is worth more than they cost: a website with booking or ordering built in, a Google profile that is managed weekly, ads only once the offer is proven. You now know enough to make those calls yourself.
Open. Do the Monday numbers for four weeks. Then take the assessment below and claim the certificate.
List the business free in the Jamaica Business Directory the day you open — reviewed by a person, live in a day. When the first ten are paying, a turnkey website is J$35,000 to build, with the software, hosting and support on a plan from J$4,500/mo.
