Every marketing conversation in Jamaica starts with "how do I get more people to my page?" It is the wrong first question. The right one is: of the people already coming, how many become customers — and why do the rest leave?
The word, decoded
Conversion = a visitor does the thing the page exists for. For most Jamaican businesses that is a WhatsApp message; for a tour operator a booking; for a shop an order; for a clinic a call. Rate = how many out of a hundred. Optimization = making that number go up on purpose, by changing the page and measuring.
Why it comes before traffic
Say 100 people visit and 2 message you. If you double the ad budget you get 200 visitors and 4 messages — for double the money, every month. If instead you fix the page so 6 in 100 message, you get 6 from the same budget, and when you do buy traffic later, every visitor is worth three times as much. Fixing is a one-off cost; buying is forever.
The five fixes
- One-tap WhatsApp on every page, message pre-typed.
- Prices or starting prices written down.
- Proof next to the button: real reviews, real photos, the Google rating.
- Speed: the page shows in under three seconds on data.
- One next step per page, the easiest thing on the screen.
How you know it worked
Count before, change one thing, count after. Taps on the WhatsApp button, calls, form sends, bookings, orders. Ezy Stats does this on our sites; on any site, Google Analytics with events does. Likes and "traffic" do not count — only actions do.
- Open your site on your phone with WiFi off and count to three.
- Find the WhatsApp button. If it takes more than one tap, that is fix one.
- Find a price. If there is none, that is fix two.
- Find a review on the page. If there is none, that is fix three.
Not sure which step you're on? Book a growth call — fifteen minutes with Lee, no pressure, no obligation. You leave with the step, the first fix and the price.
Frequently asked
What is a good conversion rate for a Jamaican business website?
Most sites we check sit at 1–3% of visitors sending a message. Sites with the five fixes do noticeably better, but the number depends on the business — your own before-and-after matters more than any benchmark.
Is CRO only for big companies?
The opposite. A small site with 100 visitors a month cannot afford to lose 98 of them. CRO is the cheapest growth a small business has.
Do I need new software?
Usually not for the first fixes. A WhatsApp button, prices and reviews can go on almost any site. Bookings and orders taken on the site do need software — that is what the Ezy plans include.
